Rescue of the Month
Trixie
Trixie is a gentle and loving eight year old, who was surrendered by her owner because her toddler was picking on poor Trixie. She’s a great family dog, and would do well with children ages six and up, as long as the kids are gentle and respectful of her. Trixie has minor hip issues, and although she gets around without too much difficulty, a home with few or no stairs would be best for her. At 96 pounds, she’s needs a reduced calorie diet and regular low impact exercise to shed excess weight. Trixie likes other dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She’s an absolute sweetheart, and she’s dreaming of a second chance with a new owner. Could it be you?
Trixie is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.

Alma
Alma was found abandoned outside a veterinary clinic in Monroe with her 3 kittens. She's initially shy, but warms up quickly and loves to be talked to and snuggled. She also loves to be brushed (which is great, since Alma is a beautiful black medium-hair cat). Alma would love to spend the rest of her days indoors (and she's got a lot of days ahead, since she's just 3 years old), in a quieter home . She's okay with some other cats, but shouldn't have to live with a dog. Please come meet this shy sweetheart.
